Gaspe: Paul starts his Autumn Tour

Under a broad blue Gaspe sky beginning to dim, a half-hearted full moon struggling to be seen, the mighty engine of The Chaleur stormed slowly past cousin Ted into the station with terrifying noise.
I was about to go from these choppy Atlantic waters right the way across our country to the heaving swells of the Pacific Ocean, a mare usque ad mare — from the little New Carlisle Station to the (for me, unknown) destination of Prince Rupert, the northern-most coastal point of British Columbia. On this — what seems to me rather epic writer’s journey — I shall be reporting what Joan, my photographer wife, and I observe all the way across, on my blog, on Facebook, and later through Viarail to any prospective riders of this marvellous ride, and of course to prospective readers of The Alford Saga, Book Three, the Pioneer, which is due out in October. I do hope you will enjoy this adventure and its pictures taken by Joan. Be sure to follow us!
